Prevents Water Damage and Rebar Corrosion

SW-244-100 VOC™ is a low VOC, DOT grade, 100% active alkylalkoxysilane water repellent that meets or exceeds NCHRP and Alberta Testing requirements for use on highways and bridges decks. The small molecular silane structure penetrates deep into the surface and bonds chemically resulting in permanent attachment of the water repellent molecule. SW 244-100 VOC™ has been used successfully on many DOT highway and bridge projects as well as new commercial construction projects such as stadiums, high-rise buildings, and parking garages.

Stops Salt Penetration and Corrosion

SW-244-100 VOC™ is not a surface coating. The “neat” or small molecule silane solution penetrates deep into the substrate and once fully cured, prevents the ingress of water and salt providing long-lasting surface and rebar corrosion protection.

When water penetrates the surface of concrete or masonry and then freezes, it expands and causes the cavity to swell and eventually rupture.

SW-244-100 VOC™ protects concrete and masonry from the cracking, spalling, and crumbling caused by repeated freeze/thaw cycles.  SW-244-100 VOC™ prevents water penetration by reacting chemically with the substrate to form a structural bond that locks out water.  Since water can’t penetrate, there is no more expansion or damage caused by freezing. Concrete and masonry last longer!

Additionally, SW-244-100 VOC™ is a non-yellowing, clean penetrating agent. It does not change the color or appearance of typical surfaces to which it is applied. Surfaces and structures stay cleaner because conditions that contribute to staining are reduced and dirt rinses away more readily. 

Applications and Coverage Rates: SW-244-100 VOC™ can be used on most exterior horizontal and vertical above-grade concrete and masonry surfaces. Coverage rates vary from 150-250 sq. ft. per gallon, depending on surface porosity and texture.
